AFTER A DISAPPOINTING 0 - 3 STINT AT THE TOYOTA 4 - NATIONS POCKET TOURNAMENT IN ESTONIA, GILAS PILIPINAS IS SET TO PARTICIPATE AT THE UPCOMING 2015 WILLIAM JONES CUP IN TAIWAN LATER THIS MONTH. THE 2015 WILLIAM JONES CUP WILL BE THE TOURNAMENTS' 37TH EDITION. THE TOURNAMENT HAPPENS EVERY YEAR.

34 PLAYERS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND THE US MEN'S BASKETBALL MINICAMP NEXT WEEK WHICH WILL BE HELD IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA. THE AMERICANS WILL HAVE  TWO DAYS OF LIGHT WORKOUTS AND ON THE FINAL DAY, AN EXHIBITION GAME WHERE THE PLAYERS WILL BE DIVIDED TO FORM 2 TEAMS. 

THE TOP-RANKED AMERICANS WILL BRING IN EIGHT NEW COMERS ADDED TO THE ROSTER FOR CAMP TOGETHER WITH PLAYERS WHO ARE ALREADY IN THE NATIONAL POOL.

THE EXHIBITION GAME IS ON THURSDAY NIGHT ON THE CAMPUS OF UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA IN LAS VEGAS (UNLV). THE GAME IS KNOWN AS THE WHITE AND BLUE GAME WHICH WILL BE TELEVISED FOR EVERYONE TO WATCH.

LAST TIME THE AMERICANS HAD THEIR TRADITIONAL BLUE AND WHITE GAME CAME TO A HALT BECAUSE OF AN IN-GAME HORRIFIC LEG INJURY THAT WAS SUFFERED BY PAUL GEORGE OF THE INDIANA PACERS. GEORGE THEN MISSED OUT THE FIBA WORLD CUP AND ALMOST THE ENTIRE NBA SEASON LAST YEAR.

THE BID TO HOST THE 2019 FIBA BASKETBALL WORLD CUP WILL FINALLY COME TO A CLOSE AS THE WINNER WHO WILL HOST THE BIGGEST BASKETBALL GATHERING OF THE BEST TEAMS AROUND THE WORLD IN THE YEAR 2019 WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER TONIGHT IN TOKYO, JAPAN.

TWO COUNTRIES THAT ARE BATTLING IT OUT TO WIN THE HEARTS OF FIBA AND ITS BOARD ARE THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA AND THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES.

THE PRESENTATIONS ARE LIMITED TO 20 MINUTES PER COUNTRY WITH 4 PRESENTERS.

THE PHILIPPINE CONTINGENT TO THE 2019 FIBA BASKETBALL WORLD CUP - CANDIDATE HOST NATION PRESENTATIONS IN JAPAN WERE LED BY MANNY V. PANGILINAN - PRESIDENT OF THE SAMAHANG BASKETBALL NG PILIPINAS, HOLLYWOOD ACTOR LOU DIAMOND PHILIPPS, FORMER NATIONAL TEAM COACH CHOT REYES, FORMER NATIONAL TEAM CAPTAIN JIMMY ALAPAG, TOGETHER WITH THE FIGHTING PRIDE OF THE PHILIPPINES MANNY "PACMAN" PACQUAIO.

THE CHINESE DELEGATION WERE LED BY FORMER 5 - TIME NBA ALL-STAR YAO MING.

THE FINAL DECISION TO WHERE THE 2019 FIBA WORLD CUP WILL BE AIRED VIA LIVE STREAMING IN THE FIBA'S OFFICIAL YOUTUBE CHANNEL, 19:15 PM TOKYO LOCAL TIME.

ON HIS SENIOR YEAR, ARMSTRONG AVERAGED 12.5 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 5.4 APG, 2.6 SPG, AND SHOOTING 44% FROM BEYOND THE ARC. HE ALSO FINISHED AS A MEMBER OF FIRST TEAM ALL SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE AND  SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE CO-MOST VALUABLE PLAYER,

CAREER STATS:
13 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 5 APG, 2.4 SPG, AND SHOOTING 43% FROM BEYOND THE ARC.
